Spriggan is set in an alternate post-Cold War timeline and has been adapted into an anime for Netflix. The series is quite short, consisting of only one season and six episodes. Here’s everything you need to know about a possible Spriggan Season 2.
In the world of Spriggan, many years ago, an advanced civilization existed, leaving behind valuable treasures and a mysterious message. It states that if the artifacts are not used for good, they should be destroyed. Agents Yu Ominae and Jean Jaques-Monde set out to stop a malevolent organization from misusing the artifacts.
Spriggan isn’t exactly a new story. The Netflix anime is based on the classic manga of the same name by Hiroshi Takashige and Ryōji Minagawa from the 1980s and 1990s. There’s also an anime movie that was released in 1998. In this article, however, we want to address the question of whether and when Spriggan will get a second season on Netflix.
Everything We Know About Spriggan Season 2
To be honest, we don’t currently know much about Spriggan Season 2. While the anime has attracted some viewers on Netflix, it hasn’t been renewed yet. The first season was released on the streaming platform in June 2022.
Unfortunately, we also don’t know if the anime has been canceled. Since the first season finale, neither Netflix nor Studio David Production has revealed any information about Spriggan’s future. Therefore, it’s currently unclear when, or even if, the anime will ever return. We consider the chances slim.

What Are The Chances for Spriggan Season 2?
It’s unlikely that Spriggan will get a second season. This is mainly due to the anime’s only moderately successful reception, as evidenced by its ratings on platforms like IMDb (6.8 out of 10 stars). Furthermore, the first season was released over four years ago, and most anime are not renewed after this length of time.
To be fair, there are also points in favor of Spriggan Season 2. The ending of the first season made it clear that the story wasn’t over. The post-credits scene of the last episode introduces the next major villain for the protagonist. Furthermore, the original manga comprises eleven volumes, but the anime has only adapted a portion of the content so far.
